Won nine letters during his Middlesex career, including five in baseball. Also lettered in basketball and football. Considered to be one of the best pitchers in the School’s history. Routinely struck out 10 or more batters in a game, including 24 against the M.I.T. freshmen in 1965. Pitched all 13 innings in a 2-1 loss to Milton in 1966 that decided the league championship. Pitched at Tufts University, where he averaged 8.5 strikeouts a game. Awarded the Theodore Roosevelt Award by the NCAA in 1999 and the Souders Award by NEPSAC in 2004 for his athletic achievements and public service.
