Hall of Fame
Won 8 letters in his Middlesex career, including four each in cross country and track. Named all-league three times and all-New England four times in cross country. Finished second in New England championship as a sophomore and first as a junior and senior. Served as cross country captain as a junior and senior and won Boston Globe All Scholastic as league MVP in both years. Served as track captain as a junior and senior and was named all-league and all-New England each year. Named NEPSTA MVP as a junior. Ran cross country and track at Yale. Became first Yale runner to run a sub four-minute mile and won Ivy League cross country championship and was named Most Outstanding Runner in indoor track as a senior, as well as All-American in the 1500 meters. After college, he pursued a professional track career and set further personal records of 3:56 in the mile and 7:49 in the 3000m, ranking as high as 8 th in a USATF National Championship and 53rd in the world. Returned to coach at Middlesex, which continued to excel in cross country and track & field during his coaching career, culminating with an undefeated cross country season capped with a NEPSTA DII Championship in 2019.
