Dedham, Mass. - Nobles scored two second half touchdowns to erase a 10-0 halftime deficit and the host Bulldogs pulled off a 13-10 victory over Middlesex in the season opener for both teams on Saturday, September 20.

After forcing a Nobles punt, Middlesex took possession for the first time at the opponent's 48-yard line and drove the ball to the 27-yard line before Sam Elfner connected on a 44-yard field goal to give the Zebras a 3-0 lead.

On the ensuing Nobles possession, senior linebacker James Millett sacked the Nobles signal caller, forcing a fumble that he recovered himself and Middlesex was in business at the Nobles 39-yard line.

The Zebras then advanced the ball to the Nobles 19 where quarterback Luke Felago hit Orion Saunders on a quick pass and Saunders did the rest of the work, bullying through Bulldog defenders on his way to the end zone and a 10-0 Middlesex lead.

After a Middlesex three and out to start the second half, Nobles drove the 63 yards and found pay dirt on a 16 yard run up the right sideline, trimming the score to 10-7.

Following another Middlesex punt, Nobles went 53 yards in six plays and despite a missed extra point, moved in front, 13-10.

Middlesex drove the ball to the Nobles 37 on their next possession but a fourth down pass was broken up. The defense held and got the ball back to the offense with a little under three minutes left to play, but a fourth down pass attempt again fell incomplete and the Bulldogs emerged with the win.

Middlesex is back in action on Saturday, September 27 with their home opener against Kingswood-Oxford at 3:00 PM.
