Middlesex Girls' Varsity Hockey traveled to Holderness on a beautiful, sunny Saturday afternoon. Fresh off a win at Brooks the night before, the Zebras were ready to take on the Bulls in Holderness' signature outdoor rink. After a strong warm up, the Zebras were slow to start with much of the game played in the neutral zone. MX stepped it up on the second as junior Janie Martin scored unassisted to give the Zebras the lead. Sophomore goaltender Niamh Tobin was stellar in net as Middlesex weathered several quality shots from Holderness. Martin made it 2-0 later in the period off an assist from first year Tessa Rusconi. The third period was back and forth and became a bit chippy. Holderness cut the lead midway through the third period but the Zebras kept their composure and held on for the 2-1 victory. Middlesex returns to the ice on Wednesday, February 26 against BBN at home.Â
