CONCORD, Mass. - The Middlesex football team completed its 2025 season with a 20-0 victory over ISL rival St. George's, their first shutout victory since 2019. The win capped off a 5-1 stretch after an 0-2 start to the season to give the team a 5-3 record on the year.

Middlesex struck quickly, taking the opening kickoff and scoring a touchdown after just 3 plays, with Frankie Forrest (Norwood, Mass.) finding the end zone from eight yards out, making the score 7-0 less than a minute into the contest.

While the St. George's offense couldn't get going, their defense did force two turnovers and the score was still 7-0 in the second quarter when the Middlesex offense put together an 11-play drive that ended with a Forrest one yard touchdown run.

Ahead 13-0 after forcing a punt late in the second quarter, Middlesex went on another scoring drive, this one highlighted by a 61 yard catch and run by Orion Saunders (Westford, Mass.) that put the ball at the one yard line. From there, senior Caleb Mitchell (Sudbury, Mass.) scored his first career touchdown and the score was 20-0 Middlesex at the half.

Both defenses played well and yielded no points in a scoreless second half and Middlesex had its 80th win in the series that dates back to 1902.

Saturday marked the final game for Forrest, Mitchell, Saunders and fellow seniors Colt Bagnulo (Hanover, N.H.), Nathan Bryant (Lisbon, Conn.), Aidan Canty-Whitt (Concord, Mass.), Emmett Goodrich (Winchester, Mass.), Luke Felago (Duxbury, Mass.), Jake Freeman (South Kingstown, R.I.), Brendan McCullen (Acton, Mass.), Caelen Meade (Bronx, N.Y.), James Millett (Edwards, Colo.), Jordan Reid-Strachan (Toronto, Ontario), Josh Richards (Worcester, Mass.), and Felix Wetzel (Concord, Mass.). This group won 12 games over their final two seasons and helped orchestrate a turnaround in the program's fortunes. We thank them for their contributions to Middlesex football and wish them well in all of their future endeavors.
