NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. - The Middlesex football team submitted their most complete effort of the season to date and beat Brooks 41-8 under the lights on October 10 to even their record at 2-2.

Brooks took the opening kick into Middlesex territory but when their drive stalled there, they opted to punt, giving Middlesex the ball at their own 20 after a touchback.

The Zebras drove 80 yards in 9 plays and scored on a Frankie Forrest 13-yard run as time expired in the first quarter for a 7-0 lead.

After a strong kick return set Brooks up with good field position, Middlesex forced another punt. This time, it was a quick strike, as Luke Felago hit Orion Saunders for a 65 yard touchdown pass that extended the Middlesex
lead to 14-0.

Brooks put together another good drive, but the Middlesex defense produced a fourth down stop at their own 26, handing the ball back to the offense with 1:48 remaining in the half.

A Felago to Forrest pass immediately put Middlesex into the red zone on the first play of the ensuing drive and Felago scored from ten yards out on a fourth down scramble to extend the Middlesex lead to 21-0.

Middlesex received the second half kick, but after an initial first down, the Brooks defense forced the only Zebra punt of the game and Brooks had the ball at their own 44.

The Middlesex defense forced a three and out, and the Zebras drove 79 yards in a drive that culminated in a Forrest three yard touchdown run to make it 28-0.

The ball was snapped over the quarterback's head on the first play of the following Brooks drive, and Josh Richards recovered the ball inside the Brooks five. Forrest scored again from four yards out and a missed extra point made it 34-0.

Brooks drove for their only touchdown of the game on their next drive and a fake extra point attempt was successful, bringing the score to 34-8 in favor of Middlesex.

A 12-yard touchdown run by Middlesex's Conor Fox closed the scoring and brought the final tally to 41-8.

Middlesex returns to action, again under the lights, when it hosts Lawrence Academy on October 18 at 6:30 pm.
