After a long bus ride, MIddlesex took the field against an athletic Tabor squad on a cloudy Wednesday afternoon. In the first quarter, Middlesex dominated on the right side of the field with juniors Ali Marsters and Alex Hood bringing the ball up seamlessly. Sophomore, Avery Swenson ripped a shot 8 minutes into the game giving the Zebras a 1-0 lead. And yet, Tabor continued to fight back and their fast middies were difficult for the Zebras to stop. Senior Sophie Watson and first-year Sarah Smith helped stifle Tabor's opportunities but none-the-less, the Zebras were on their heels in the 2nd quarter. Luckily half-time came, and the Zebras played more together in the 3rd and 4th quarter. Both teams traded goals and the game ended 2-1. While the MX had trouble finding the back of the net, they had 25+ shots and 15+ offensive corners. Kudos to Tabor's goalie and back line for making it difficult to score! The Zebras will be on the road again on Saturday as they travel to Milton.
