On a seasonably warm Saturday afternoon, the Zebras traveled to New Hampshire for their first game against the New Hampton Huskies. It took a while for the Zebras to shake off their bus legs and the first quarter was very back and forth ending in a 1-1 tie. However, the Zebras began to find their groove and their passing, communication and hard steps to the ball made it difficult for the Huskies to gain any true momentum. New Hampton had some fast forwards that created a few odd-player situations defensively but junior goalie, Anna Rusconi came up with some amazing stops and dives. The Zebras got better every quarter and every player stepped into different roles with poise and determination. By the end of the day, four different players scored and six different players assisted, which shows the depth of this young squad. The Zebras look forward to playing an athletic and fast Cushing team on Wednesday at home.Â
