Varsity Football Falls to Tabor

10/7/2024 11:41:00 AM

Tabor rolled to a 42-7 victory over Middlesex in a battle of 2-0 teams on Saturday, October 5. Middlesex played hard but Tabor's size and strength advantage was too much to overcome.

Middlesex received the opening kickoff and drove to the Tabor 25 yard line but could advance no further before turning the ball over on downs. Tabor took the ball into Middlesex territory but three incompletions and a stuffed run by the Middlesex defense gave the ball back to the Zebras. Tabor forced a three and out and then completed a 28 yard touchdown pass to take a 7-0 lead with 12 seconds left in the opening quarter.

A Middlesex fumble on the ensuing drive gave Tabor a short field and they took advantage to take a 14-0 lead. After another Middlesex three and out, Tabor was back in the red zone when junior cornerback Felix Wetzel forced a fumble that was recovered by linebacker James Millett. Middlesex could not advance the football, however, and Tabor scored again to take a 21-0 lead into halftime.

Tabor added three more touchdowns in the second half to take a 42-0 lead before running back Frankie Forrest broke the shutout with a 1 yard touchdown run with 1:15 left in the contest.

Middlesex will look to return to the win column when they host Rivers on Friday, October 11 at 2:30 pm.
