The Zebras were excited for their first ISL match-up against the St. Mark's Lions on a grey, overcast Saturday afternoon. The players were determined to set the pace and type of play in the first few minutes and immediately put pressure on St. Mark's backline with pretty passing combinations led by Finley Crosby '25 and Avery Taylor '24. The defense stood strong and did not allow a shot by St. Mark's in the first half. In typical character, St. Mark's made adjustments at the half time and the Zebras found themselves on their heels in the 3rd quarter but defender Anna Bonazzolli '25 stifled any true scoring opportunity and even had a defensive save of her own. The game ended 4-1 and it was a true team win today with every player getting some time and Anna Bonazzolli and Alex Hood '26 earning their first career goals. Shoutout to Sophia Beni '25, Chloe Gromko '26 and Katie Mullowney '24 who showed great growth in their skills and field awareness since the beginning of the season. The Zebras are excited to be back at home on Wednesday against an athletic and strong Tabor Academy squad.
