On a picture perfect late summer day, the Middlesex Zebras battled against Class-A opponent, Exeter. From the first whistle it was evident that the game would be back and forth since both teams had fast, skilled and strong players. Middlesex put two in quickly off of shots at the top of the circle but Exeter responded by pouncing on a rebound with a few minutes remaining in the 1st quarter. Sophomore Ali Marsters had her first goal of the season after a gritty play in front of the net making it 3-1 at half. Middlesex began to find their communication and passing game in the second half which led to beautiful sequences from Sophie Watson, Avery Taylor and Finley Crosby. Esme Coes notched her first of the year with a hard shot from the top of the circle and the game ended 5-2 in favor of the Zebras. A big congrats to both teams who fought hard the entire time and played fast paced hockey.Â
