The Middlesex Boys Lacrosse program had an outstanding 2023 season. We opened the season with our annual pre-season trip to Florida, where we scrimmaged 3 non-league opponents (Brunswick, Loomis. Exeter). We returned home for non-league games against Pingree (1 goal loss) and Andover (1 goal win). We then embarked on an 11-game ISL regular season, during which we won 8 games and lost 3, which was good enough for 4th place out of 16 teams, and a 4th seed in the top bracket (top 8 teams) of the ISL playoffs. We lost to eventual finalist Governor's Academy in the quarterfinals and Belmont Hill in the consolation. We ended the season with a convincing win (19-6) over rival St. George's. Our overall record was 10-6.
Team highlights included:
- Qualifying for the top-bracket (top 8 teams) of the ISL playoffs and hosting a quarterfinal game as the 4th seed.
- Beating Governor's Academy during the regular season (12-11 in OT) for the first time since 2018. As a result, the team took back the Herter / Bidstrup cup
- Beating Rivers (16-11) during the regular season for the first time since 2017.
