Emotions and energy were high as the Zebras took the field against historical rival Brooks! Middlesex was focused and intense from the start setting the pace of play early on. The Zebras found the back of the net within the first 5 minutes and Sophie Watson and Esme Coes led the team in their solid defensive marking and accurate distribution skills. Brooks found the back of the net in the 3rd quarter on a breakaway, even though Regan Fitzgerald turned away at least three shots in that attempt. This fired up the Zebras and they played some of their best field hockey of the season in the final quarter, barely letting Brooks enter Middlesex's defensive 50. With no time remaining, Anna Bonazzoli found the back of the cage on a corner with the game ending 2-1. This was the first time Middlesex has beaten Brooks since 2015 and the players should be proud of their total team effort and determination.
