The annual "Pink Game," which raises awareness and support for breast cancer fighters and survivors, was a battle against two talented, undefeated squads. While the first 10 minutes were evenly matched Andover was able to find the back of the cage twice in the first quarter. The Zebras tried to gain the momentum with a corner with time remaining but it was turned away by a speedy Andover defense. In the second quarter, Andover found the back of the cage again making it 3-0 at half. However, the Zebras were determined to play a more complete second half and they did just that. The defensive unit of KC Fiore, Anna Bonazzoli, Katie Athanasoulas and Regan Fitzgerald played athletic, gritty, and solid defense against a very talented group of Andover forwards. Middlesex found the back of the cage in the 4th quarter, which gave them confidence but it was too little, too late. Nonetheless, it was a high-paced, fun game of field hockey between two of the top teams in New England. The Zebras are excited to play another strong ISL opponent on Saturday at Nobles.
