The Zebras traveled to New Hampton on Saturday for their 2022 season opener. From the first whistle it was clear this would be a back and forth game as both teams had fast forwards and relentless defenders. Middlesex created more offensive chances early on and senior Emma Poplyk found the back of the cage on a reverse chip shot. However, the Huskies countered with a goal of their own at the end of the 2nd quarter. The second half had more back and forth play with the Zebra's defense being anchored by sophomores, Finley Crosby and Anna Bonazolli, junior, Katie Athanasoulas and senior, Ella McTeague. Some nifty passing from the forward line led to the Zebra's second goalie by junior, Siena Bernardinelli in the 3rd quarter. The Zebras are excited for their next game on the road on Wednesday versus Class A powerhouse, Exeter Academy.
