We headed to Milton on a sunny and windy Wednesday - the elements are part of the game. We faced some very tough opponents, with many of them playing tournaments year round. But, we put up a praise-worthy good fight. With so many deuce points not going our way, each player battled hard. Co-captain, Neha Kommeneini played a very tough player, but managed to have her on her back foot for so much of the match. Neha had high deep balls that kept her opponent back. They battled, but lost by one point on several of the key deuce games.
Senior Taylor Portlock, played 6 and was up 5-4 in the first set, staying consistent and getting punishing first serves in, unfortunately Milton didn't give up and battled back.Â
We have all the shots and the hard work, we will continue to work on converting deuce points and actively thinking when to switch up our style of play when necessary.
We are hosting Thayer this weekend - go Zebras!
