Middlesex hosted Groton in a battle of the Zebras on Wednesday evening. Middlesex was first on the board with a great hustle goal finished by Brooke Nye '22 from teammates Ava Romano '22 and Olivia Vlachich '24. Before the end of the first, Groton answered back with a goal of their own to make the score 1-1 at the first intermission. 

Groton scored first in the second period, capitalizing on a powerplay opportunity to give the visitors their first lead of the game. Middlesex tied up the score at two a piece on a great heads up pass out of the zone to Siena Berardinelli '24 who refused to give up on the scoring opportunity. Bernadinelli's goal was the last for of the game Middlesex while Groton went one to find the back of the net three more times. 

Groton's game winner came in the last 30 seconds of the second period and the two more in final sixteen minutes. Groton scored on the first shift of the third and again on an open net opportunity to solidify their 5-2 victory over Middlesex.
