After a year hiatus, the Middlesex Field Hockey team was excited to take the field for the first time in 2021. From the first whistle, the team controlled the pace of play with creative passing patterns and direct communication. The Dana Hall goalie made some talented saves early in the game, frustrating the Zebra forwards. However, half-way through the first quarter, the Zebras put one in the back of the cage on a corner, and another goal followed soon after. At half-time the team made adjustments to their offensive circle play being gritty, determined and disciplined. In the 3rd quarter alone, Middlesex popped 5 more into the net, scored by 5 different players. Overall, it was a solid performance by every member of the squad but more importantly, it felt amazing to be wearing the Middlesex jersey again after a long break. The Zebras are excited to play their first game at home on Saturday against New Hampton.
