A hard fought battle, the girls fell to Rivers 3-1. The first two periods of play were fairly even with both teams possessing the puck and having quality scoring opportunities. Sophomore forward Siena Berardinelli '24 notched her first career goal roughly 6 minutes into the second period to tie the game at 1-1. The Rivers' team took control of the game in the third period after 4 consecutive penalties taken by Middlesex. The girls' managed to fend off a brief 5-on-3, but Rivers scored the go ahead goal on the following power play, and a third goal just minutes later. Sophomore netminder Regan Fitzgerald '24 made an impressive 32 saves.Â
The Zebras will take on the Hill School, Brooks School, and Dexter Southfield in the upcoming Dexter Southfield Holiday tournament.
