Middlesex Girls' Varsity Hockey earned a shutout victory in their final game of the regular season Saturday afternoon at St. George's. The Zebras took the lead early in the first period and never looked back, defeating the rival Dragons, 4-0. MX junior Izzy Allieri opened the scoring at 10:13 in the first with an unassisted snipe to the corner. With 3:06 remaining, freshman Caroline Cervini added her third of the year off assists from senior Lola Davis and sophomore Ava Romano. With just two seconds remaining in the period, senior captain Ali Joseph put the Zebras up 3-0 off assists from senior captain Kiley Briand and Allieri. After a scoreless and back and forth second period, MX rounded out the scoring on the powerplay by junior Maddie Murphy. Senior goalkeeper Daisy Boynton earned the shutout with 45 saves.
