On a hot and humid day, Middlesex traveled to Southborough, Mass. to play the consistently strong St. Mark's squad. The Zebras came out firing, with sharp passes and strong communication. A strong defensive squad, led by senior Dahlia Galante, stifled many of the St. Mark's scoring opportunities. Within the first 15 minutes, the Zebras put in a goal off of a corner play to make the score 1-0. The Zebras continued to keep the momentum in the first half. The St. Mark's Lions took halftime to regroup and they came out looking like a different team in the second half. They continuously pressured Middlesex in their defensive end and made it challenging for the Zebras to bring the ball up the field. Middlesex fought off their attack for a while, but with ten minutes remaining, St. Mark's scored the equalizer, followed by the game winner 6 minutes later. The Zebras are happy to be back on their home turf again on Wednesday against an athletic Tabor team.
