Middlesex traveled to face a very strong Brooks team (10-2 ISL, 13-2 overall) on Wednesday, May 15. Middlesex opened the scoring in the 1st quarter, but Brooks then scored twice to make it 2-1. Middlesex scored to make it 2-2 before Brooks scored 2 more and Middlesex ended the 1st trailing 4-2. Neither team scored in the 2nd and the 1st half ended 4-2. In the 3rd quarter, the Zebras scored twice to tie the game at 4-4, but Brooks then scored 2 of their own and the 3rd ended with Middlesex trailing 6-4. In the 4th, the two teams traded goals and it ended 7-6. Middlesex had some chances in the closing minutes, but was unable to get the equalizer. Individually, the standout players for Middlesex were Mike Allieri (8 saves), Zack Goorno (3g, 1a) and Cole Nye (1g, 1a, 5 ground balls). The defense as a unit played a solid game as well.
