Middlesex hosted a talented Rivers team (5-1 in the ISL, 8-2 overall) on Friday, April 26. The Zebras started strong and scored the first goal, but then Rivers went on a run, and Middlesex was down 4-1 mid-way thru the 2nd quarter.  Middlesex battled back and scored 3 in a row resulting in a 4-4 tie at the half. Rivers went up 5-4 to start the 3rd quarter, but the Zebras scored the next 2 goals and were winning 6-5 at the end of the 3rd quarter.  Rivers scored twice in the 4th to take a 7-6 lead. Middlesex hit the post with 10 seconds left but was unable to get the equalizer. Individually, the standout players for Middlesex were Peter Gilbert (3 goals), Harry Friedman (won 65% of the faceoffs), Cole Nye (1 goal), Zack Goorno (1 goal) and Casey Gillis (1 goal).  The entire Middlesex defense played well, including goalie Mike Allieri. The Zebras host a very strong (undefeated, ranked #17 nationally) St. Sebastian's team on Wednesday, May 1.
