The Zebras had moments of terrific play today against an athletic Thayer team.  The Tigers came out strong with six unanswered goals, but Middlesex refused to give in and found new fuel thanks to the help of draw controls by Carly Tilson and Daisy Boynton.  Alex Fehnel put the Zebras on the scoreboard off a feed by Hannah Barron at the 11:10 mark and Clarissa Hurley and Hayden Monahan followed to make the score 6-3.  Thayer answered to take a four goal lead but Barron and Fehnel combined for two more goals to close the gap.  Down just 5-9 at halftime, the Zebras came out ready to rally.  Unfortunately, Thayer dug in during the second half, and, despite several strong defensive plays by Tilson, Hurly, Boyton, Sophia Poplyk, Nico Roark, Izzy Allieri, freshman Brooke Nye, and goalie Annabel Austen, the team could not hold off the potent Tiger offense.  The team will look to rebound with a three game week.
