The Middlesex Boys' Varsity Lacrosse team hosted Milton Academy on a warm and sunny Wednesday in another classic ISL tilt.
Â
The first quarter opened with Middlesex notching the first two goals of the game to establish an early lead. The teams traded goals to close the quarter, 3-1. After giving up the next goal of the game early in the second, Middlesex went on a 3-goal run to bring the halftime score to 6-2.
Â
The teams again traded goals to open up the second half of play, with Middlesex scoring at the 8:17 mark of the third quarter, pushing their advantage to 7-3. Unfortunately, the Zebras would lose their focus, draw some unnecessary penalties, and the result was an incredible 7-0 run by Milton over a 14-minute stretch in the second half, taking the lead and pushing it to 10-7 before Middlesex finally stopped the bleeding and scored at the 6:18 mark to cut the deficit to 2. That was as close as they would get, as Milton answered back with a goal of their own. A final goal by Middlesex made the final result an 11-9 loss.
