Middlesex ran into a tough, skilled, and well-coached Pingree team on Wednesday. We have a very young team this year, and our lack of experience showed up at times. That said, there were glimpses of huge potential in all areas of the field: the defense displayed grit and intelligence, our midfield is athletic and fit, and our attack is skilled and can finish around the cage. The game was a back-and-forth affair throughout, and neither team held more than a two goal advantage at any point. Middlesex went into halftime up 4-3, but Pingree went up 7-6 going into the 4th. The teams traded goals in the final quarter, and Pingree notched the game-winner with under two minutes to play. Harry Friedman, who was excellent all day, won the final draw and gave MX the last possession, where we got several high-quality chances, but none were finished. The offense was led by sophomore Will McCarthy's 5 goals and 1 assist, and the defense was spearheaded by sophomore George Fulton.
