Middlesex traveled down the road to ISL opponent Lawrence on a rainy Wednesday afternoon. The Zebras must enjoy the rain because from the first whistle, Middlesex played with fire and intensity. While Lawrence out shot Middlesex in the first half, Middlesex created many dangerous scoring opportunities due to the sharp passing led by junior, Malloy Clifford and senior, Anna Simmons. The score was tied at half. In the second half, Middlesex made some nice adjustments on their free hits, which allowed them to work the ball up the field. The first goal of the game was scored by the Zebras off of a beautiful crossed ball from first year, Sage Piekarski to sophomore, Ellie Barton. A few minutes later, the Zebras again found the back of the cage off of a smart corner play. In the last few minutes there was a flurry of offensive corners for Lawrence but they were repeatedly turned away, due to consistent play by goalie, Danielle Lawton. The game ended 2-1 for the Zebras. Middlesex is excited to be back at home against last years Class-B Champions, Brooks.Â
