In front of a lively and supportive Parents' Weekend crowd, the Middlesex Zebras faced off against a young, but fast, Thayer team. While Middlesex dominated the play through the midfield, led by sophomore, Brooke Nye and senior, Anna Simmons, they could not find the back of the cage. Throughout the game, Thayer tried to create fast break opportunities for themselves but first year, Emma Poplyk had some amazing tackles and stops, which thwarted any advance Thayer attempted. Finally, with about ten minutes left in the game, senior, Syd MacKeigan, did a chip shot from the top of the circle, which hit the cross bar and bounced in front of the cage, to a waiting Ellie Barton, who pounced on it, and put in the back of the cage. That was the lone goal for the game. The Zebras are excited to travel to Cushing on Wednesday for an out of league game.Â
