On a brisk yet sunny afternoon, the Middlesex Zebras traveled down the road to face off against the Groton Zebras. Even on the slow turf, Middlesex had some nice passing combinations on the side lines, led by senior, Anna Simmons and sophomore, Abby Pratt. Groton capitalized early on a rebound, even though the defensive unit led by senior, Riley Galizio, and sophomore, Holly Levasseur, were playing tight defense on the Groton forwards. However, Middlesex kept their spirits high and in the second half their passing became sharper and their communication became louder. Their grit paid off, when sophomore, Holly Levasseur hit the post on a beautiful lifted shot, but classmate, Ellie Barton was there to pounce on the rebound, evening the score at one all. The game went into overtime, when sophomore Brooke Nye and first year, Emma Poplyk, created many scoring chances but unfortunately they couldn't put one past the strong Groton goalie. The girls are excited for the long weekend!
