The Middlesex Girls' Varsity Hockey team fell to Groton in overtime during a hard fought game on Wednesday afternoon. Middlesex took the lead at the start of the second period when Izzy Allieri scored on a breakaway on an assist from Ali Joseph. Groton tallied a goal a few minutes later. In the remaining minute of the period, Kiley Briand scored five hole on an assist from Danielle Lawton. In the third period Groton battled back to tie the game before regulation time ran out. In over time, Middlesex pressured Groton in their end, but Groton managed to get a fast break up the ice and scored on a fluke shot from the corner. It was a tough loss for Middlesex, but they are hungry to get back on the ice for their match up on Friday against Hebron.
