The Middlesex varsity team won a hard-fought game over a formidable Governor's team this past Saturday. From the first drop of the puck, Middlesex came out hard and played with fire and intensity. While the first period remained scoreless, Middlesex dominated the period and pelted the Governor's goalie with shot after shot. In the second period, Middlesex relentlessly pressured Governor's all over the ice and netted their first goal partway through the period while on the power play when Malloy Clifford tucked away a rebound off of Nicollette Roark's blast from the point. Governor's fought back and managed to tie the score before the end of the period. The third period was a battle with both team fighting to gain the upper edge, but it was Middlesex who pulled ahead when Ali Joseph drove the puck home, assisted by Izzy Allieri and Angelina DeVellis. Caroline Bedrosian played a phenomenal game in net and turned away countless shots. Middlesex next faces St. Mark's on the road on Wednesday.
