On a very warm Wednesday May 2, the Zebras headed to battle the 2017 ISL co-champion - the St. Sebastian's Arrows. In the first half, the two teams kept trading goals and St. Sebastian's went into the half up 4-3. Middlesex came out in the third firing on all cylinders going up 6-4 on goals by Zach Goorno (3g) and Stew Hickey (2g). The defense, including goalkeeper Michael Allieri (16 saves), also buckled down and kept St. Sebastian's scoreless in the third. Midway through the fourth the Arrows caught fire and started finishing. They also started to control the face-off x and eventually scored the winning goal with eight seconds to play. A memorable game for the fans with both teams walking away proud of their performance. Up next for Middlesex is longtime rival Groton on Saturday.Â
