In what only can be described as a defensive battle, the Zebras fell to a sharp and focused Thayer team.  The teams traded goals in the 15 minutes of play landing at a 3-3 battle, but Thayer gained the momentum on two late goals in the first half to claim a 5-3 lead at halftime.  In the second half, Middlesex continued to struggle initially on attack and the Tigers notched two more goals to take a 7-3 lead.
  
However, the Zebras came roaring back inspired from excellent defensive play.  The defense held the Tigers scoreless for the last 21 minutes of play, despite several offensive runs by the opponent.  Middles chipped away at the lead bringing the game to 7-6 with 7 minutes to play. Unfortunately, Middlesex couldn't convert and the game remained for the Thayer win.  Clarissa Hurley had a terrific game with three goals and two crucial ground balls, and Caroline Fischer notched 10 saves, many in the second half, and led the team in ground balls.  Caroline Silk anchored the defensive unit.
