The Middlesex Boys' Varsity Lacrosse team opened its ISL slate as St. Mark's traveled to Herter Field on a dry but chilly early spring afternoon. St. Mark's got out of the gates quickly, jumping to a 3-1 lead after one quarter. However, Middlesex took better care of the ball in the second quarter, and found the net five times to take a 6-4 lead into halftime. Middlesex continued to have controlled possessions on offense, and coupled with a stout defense, extended the lead to 8-4, after three. The teams traded goals in the fourth, but Middlesex maintained control of the game, finishing with a hard fought 10-6 victory. Five players scored goals for Middlesex, and six total players filled the scoring ledger in a well-balanced attack, led by Zach Goorno (2 G, 2 A).
The Zebras next travel down to Tabor in their inaugural ISL matchup on Wednesday.
