Girls' Varsity Hockey Tops Holderness, 5-2

2/18/2018 1:38:00 PM

Middlesex came away with a stunning victory this past Saturday against a formidable Holderness team! Before the drop of the puck, the four seniors of Middlesex were honored for their commitment and dedication to the program throughout their careers. Sophie Kreytak (Lexington, Mass.), Siobhan Morrissey (Concord, Mass.), Itsy Seeman (Weston, Mass.), and Caroline Silk (Stamford, Conn.) have had an incredibly positive impact on the team and program during their time at Middlesex and we will miss them so much next year.

Right from the drop of the puck, Middlesex came out hard and pressured Holderness all over the ice. Middlesex scored first when Ali Joseph knocked home a rebound assisted by Kiley Briand and Riley Galizio. Holderness answered back at the start of the first with a goal to tie the game. Middlesex fought back and put two goals in before the end of the second period. Joseph scored again during another scramble in front assisted by Briand and then Briand notched a goal unassisted. During the third period, Holderness scored again but Middlesex shut down their momentum with two more goals. Nicollette Roark scored on the rebound off of a shot from from Angelina DeVellis, who received the puck from Lily Jarrett. Izzy Allieri capped off the scoring for Middlesex during a 2v1 rush up the ice when she received a pass from Briand and tucked the puck past the Holderness goalie. It was an exciting home victory and a stunning tribute to the four Middlesex seniors!
