The Middlesex Girls' Hockey team battled a formidable Milton team this past Saturday and unfortunately was not able to come up with a win. Milton took the lead with a goal in the first period and then tallied two more goals in the second. Middlesex fought back and scored in the opening minute of the third period when Lola Davis batted home a rebound in front of the Milton net having been assisted by Nicollette Roark and Lily Jarrett. Possession went back and forth between both teams, and the Middlesex players relentlessly pressured Milton in their defensive zone. Milton scored again, but then Middlesex answered back with another goal less than a minute later when Roark entered the offensive zone and let loose a monstrous slap shot that clanged off the post, deflected off the Milton goalie, and landed in the back of the net. The Milton team refused to let up and managed to tuck away two more goals before the end of the game. Middlesex will be facing off against Lawrence on the road this upcoming Wednesday.
