The Middlesex Zebras took the field against the Groton Zebras on a windy, fall Friday afternoon. From the opening whistle, Middlesex controlled the field with beautiful passing combinations led by senior, Lily Jarrett. Middlesex popped two goals in early and took advantage of disorganization in the Groton defensive end. It was 2-0 at half. However, Groton did not back down and continued to put pressure on the Middlesex zebra's defense. The second half was filled with back and forth play and both teams were gritty in the circles. Middlesex made the score 3-1 with 15 minutes left in the game, but Groton took advantage of defensive breakdowns, tying the game at three. However, senior, Rissa Hurley, found the back of the cage on a beautiful wrist shot with seven minutes remaining on a fast break and the game ended 4-3, Middlesex Zebras. A wonderful way to begin Fall Long Weekend!
