The Middlesex Zebras took the field on a very hot, sunny day against a talented Governor's Academy team. Both squads worked hard through the midfield and Middlesex found success transferring the ball through the back fields and switching the point of attack. Unfortunately, Governor's found the back of the cage after 15 minutes on a beautifully executed corner play. There was little the Zebras could do in order to stop the well placed shot and perfectly tipped ball. In the second half, the Zebra's continued to battle playing extremely cohesively on all parts of the field. In particular there was great passing combinations by first years, Ellie Barton and Holly Levasseur and senior, Rissa Hurley. Given the heat and back-and-forth play, Middlesex lost some steam and Governor's popped one in the back of the net in the final 1:30 of play. However, the Zebras put up a fierce fight and are excited to bring this momentum into their game on Friday against the Groton Zebras.
