The Middlesex Girls' Hockey team squared off against Cushing on Friday for an out of league contest. Both teams were fired up for the match up and played an intense physical game. Cushing got on the board early with a goal in the first period, but Middlesex battled back and kept the play in Cushing's defensive end peppering their goalie with shots. As play continued throughout the game, Middlesex hit multiple crossbars and the goalie stood on her head with some tremendous saves. Unfortunately, none of the bounces went Middlesex's way and the game ended with a final score of 0-1. The Middlesex players competed hard and played a fast paced game and never gave up for a moment. The team will be back in action on Saturday against Newton Country Day.
