Girls' Varsity Ice Hockey defeated Kents Hill School 2-0 Friday evening to open the 2017-2018 season at home. Middlesex took a 1-0 lead during the first period when Nicollette Roark '20 saw an opening under the goalies pad and tucked it away on her backhand. Later in second period, Angelina DeVellis '19 broke into the zone down the left-hand boards and sniped the top corner over the goalie's left shoulder. The Middlesex team played tough defense and relentlessly pressured all over the ice. Caroline Silk '18 earned her first shutout of the year with 19 saves.
