Middlesex Girls' Varsity Ice Hockey hosted the Portsmouth Abbey Ravens Friday evening in front of a packed crowd at Pratt Rink. The Zebras went down 1-0 early in the first period but netted the equalizer three minutes later when senior captain Jac White beat the Portsmouth Abbey goalkeeper blocker side. MX took a 2-1 lead in the second when freshman Nicollette Roark slid into the high slot and found the back of the net, assisted by Itsy Seeman '18 and White. But the Ravens fought back, netting a goal on a MX defensive miscommunication to knot the score at two. The Zebras came out in the third period with an ignited fire, fighting for every puck until Angelina DeVellis '19 sent a puck in deep in the Ravens zone to Kylie Quinlan '19, who found the back of the net for the win. The Zebras held off a PA powerplay as the minutes counted down and went on to win, 3-2. MX returns to ISL action tomorrow, traveling to Thayer Academy for a 2:15 PM start.
