Girls' Varsity Hockey Hosts Nobles in ISL Battle

1/12/2017 9:56:00 AM

Girls' Varsity Ice Hockey started the first period on fire, pressuring the talented Nobles squad for the open eight minutes of the period. The Zebras had some quality chances and goalkeeper Caroline Silk '18 was stellar in net. Nobles tallied four goals late the first period but the Zebras regrouped during the intermission and stated the second with even more fire and grit. Despite several offensive chances by Kiley Briand '20, Carly Kreytak '19 and Kylie Quinlan '19, the hosts were unable to capitalize. Nobles added just one goal in the second period. The third period was a fierce battle, with both teams exchanging offensive opportunities and good defense. Senior captains Jac White '17 and Pauline Santry '17 both had scoring chances but the Nobles goalie came up big to keep the shutout. Silk posted 44 saves in the game, including a point blank shot by a Nobles forward.

The Zebras host ISL rival Governor's Academy on Saturday, January 14 at 2:00 PM.
