The Zebras traveled down to Marion, Mass. Saturday to take on the Tabor Seawolves. The play was fairly even in the first half while each team tallied ten (Middlesex) and nine (Tabor) shots on goal. However, senior Brenna Chitkara initiated a play into the circle leading to Middlesex's first goal ten minutes into the half. Tabor's offense intensified and after a hard fought battle at the defensive end, the Seawolves eventually found the back of the net. The Zebras answered just three minutes later to nab the game winner. In the second half, much of the play was between the 25 yard lines as both teams battled for possession. The defensive unit held strong under the tutelage of goalie Cece DeSimone. DeSimone tallied 12 saves on the day, including a acrobatic stick save to preserve the win in the second half.
The Zebras will now train for the week in preparation for their first ISL home game against St. Mark's on Saturday, September 24th.
