The Middlesex Girls' Varsity Tennis team ended its winning streak in a closely-contested match against The Governor's Academy 7 - 8 Wednesday. The sun was shining with temperatures soaring to the mid-80s. Indeed, the heat was a factor for play, challenging both teams.
As in our last match, the teams were tied 6 - 6 heading into doubles, and spectators held their breath as the contest went down to the last doubles set to be determined. Alas, it was the Red Dogs' day and they clinched the last point for the overall match.
Singles points were secured by Helen Lasry '18, Caroline Reynolds '17, Laura Kaye '17, and Emma Pratt '16. Caroline and Laura swept their singles sets. Our doubles point was captured with the consistency, communication, and determination of Emma and Maud McCole '19.
The Zebras look forward to close our season against traditional rival St. George's on Saturday.
