On Wednesday, Brooks Boys' Lacrosse came to town having just recently beaten Phillips Andover, and we knew we had to play well to compete. Brooks plays a stingy zone defense and has a good goalie behind it, usually a difficult combo to beat. It took us some time in the first period to figure it out. Happily, our first goal came in transition when defenseman Buford Reid came down on a fast break and scored. Sam Dwinell scored our next three goals after long offensive possessions, sending us into halftime with a 4-1 lead. Again good defense by Jack Lyne, Mike Immerman and Buford Reid in the third stymied the Brooks offense and a cannon of a shot from Gavin Garrity-Rokous gave us another goal to go up 5-1 after three quarters. We were able to find the back of the cage several more times in the last period for the final score of 9-3. This makes our record 9-3 as we head into our game versus a very good Belmont Hill team. We anticipate an exciting game on Saturday in front of our alumni crowd.
