Girls' Varsity Ice Hockey hosted Proctor Academy Wednesday afternoon in a quick paced, non-conference matchup at Pratt Rink. The Zebras came out strong in the first period, connecting on passes and testing the Proctor goalkeeper early but were unable to find the back of the net. MX struggled to settle the puck in the second period and a series of odd man rushes and defensive mis-communications led to the lone goal of the game by Proctor's Bridget Fagan. Middlesex regrouped during the intermission and picked up the tempo in the third period, creating multiple shots on goal, including a point-blank shot in the final minute on a Zebra powerplay. Despite a strong effort, the puck didn't fall and Proctor took the victory, 1-0. MX returns to the ice on Friday, December 9 at Rivers at 5:00 PM to open the ISL season.
