In the final game of the Southfield Holiday Tournament, Middlesex Girls' Hockey battled the hosts in a physical, back and forth game Saturday evening. With 19 penalties spanning the three periods, both teams spent time ample time on special teams. Southfield found the back of the net first but the Zebras scored the equalizer just two minutes later off a goal by Kiley Briand '20, assisted by Kylie Quinlan '19. In the second period, Southfield took the lead 2-1 but the Zebras continued to fight, recording 16 shots on net. In the third period, a defensive breakdown gave up a Southfield breakaway and the hosts took a 3-1 lead. MX battled to the end but were unable to convert. The Zebras will enjoy a much needed holiday break and return to the ice on January 6th at home vs. Winsor School.
