Middlesex Girls' Varsity Ice Hockey defeated the visiting Cushing Academy Penguins, 3-0 Friday evening in a hard-fought, physical game. The Zebras took a 1-0 lead when senior Juliette Bendheim ripped a shot from the point, which was then tipped in by a Cushing player. Freshman Carly Kreytak buried a shot top corner to give the Zebras some breathing room but the game was far from over with both teams spending much of the second and third periods in the penalty box. Late in the third period, junior Jac White slipped a shot past the Cushing goaltender to secure the win for the Zebras. Senior Katie Lovell made 25 saves for the win.
