In a non-league matchup, Middlesex Girls' Varsity Ice Hockey fell to visiting Hebron Academy 4-2, Friday evening. Hebron scored just two minutes into the first period off a point blank shot but the Zebras battled, playing disciplined defense to keep their lead to one. In the final minute of the first, Hebron went on the powerplay and with one second remaining, slipped a rebound past the Zebras for a 2-0 lead into the first intermission.

In the second, Hebron scored again for a 3-0 lead but the Zebras were not phased. On the powerplay, Leah Olson '15 teed up a shot from the point and sophomore Sage Nye was there to put the rebound home. Jac White '17 was also credited with an assist to head into the third, down 3-1.

Hebron scored their fourth goal in the opening minutes of the third but Middlesex did not give up. With three minutes to play, Caelin Flaherty '18 broke the puck out to Mary Demoulas '16 who rifled a pass to Olson who was flying up the center of the ice. Olson skated through two defenders and beat the Hebron goaltender to cut the lead to two. The Zebras were forced to kill off their fifth penalty of the game with less than a minute to play and Hebron went on to win, 4-2.
