The Zebras traveled to neighboring school Lawrence Academy on a beautiful fall afternoon. Middlesex took control of the game from the opening whistle with terrific passing sequences and excellent team play. Despite several opportunities, the Zebras didn't notch a tally until 15 minutes into the first half. After several near misses and a goal that was too high called back, the Zebras finally found the back of the Lawrence net again with 3:23 remaining. With a 2-0 lead at halftime, the Zebras were still not satisfied and in the second half, the team continued to pepper the goalie with shots. The play was a bit more sloppy from both teams, but Middlesex did manage to notch a final goal with 6:11 remaining in the game. The defensive unit under the leadership of Cece DeSimone held strong on a few Lawrence offensive surges. Overall, the game was a terrific team effort. In particular, freshman Lily Jarrett earned some minutes in the midfield and fell seamlessly into place with the veteran defenders.
